Your data is backed up.
Your cloud. Your rules.
One-click database backups for MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB. Download locally or send to your own S3 bucket — encrypted, admin-controlled, and separate from your live production data.
Everything stays under your control
Silent Dock does not host your database and does not keep your backup files on our servers. You connect through a secure tunnel, export on demand, and optionally push copies to cloud storage you already trust. Credentials are encrypted. Access is role-gated. Recovery is one click away.
How backup works
Pro admins get a dedicated Backups workspace in the dashboard.
One-click full backup
Export every table in one action. Each table becomes a sheet in a single Excel file — no scripts, no mysqldump setup.
Save to your cloud
Connect your own S3-compatible bucket (AWS, MinIO, Cloudflare R2, and more) and push backups straight to your storage.
Backup history
Keep a record of every backup — tables covered, row counts, file size, and cloud link when uploaded.
Encrypted credentials
S3 access keys are encrypted at rest. Silent Dock never stores your database contents — only the backup file you choose to download or upload.
Security built in
Your database stays on your server
Backups run over the same secure tunnel as everyday operations. Your data does not move to a Silent Dock-hosted database.
Your cloud, your bucket
Cloud backups land in storage you own and control — not a shared vendor silo you cannot audit.
Role-based access
Only team admins can create and manage backups. Everyone else works within the permissions you set.
Audit-ready operations
Pair backups with audit logs and RBAC so operational access and recovery workflows stay accountable.

FAQ
Where are backups stored?
You choose. Download the Excel file locally, or enable S3 upload to send it to a bucket you configure. Silent Dock keeps backup metadata and history — not a copy of your live database.
Is cloud backup automatic?
When S3 is configured, you can enable “save to S3” on each backup — one click exports all tables and uploads the file to your cloud in the same flow. No separate upload step.
Which databases are supported?
MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB. The backup feature is available on the Pro plan for team admins.
How is this different from sharing database credentials?
Backups go through Silent Dock’s secure access layer — encrypted tunnel, admin-only controls, and encrypted S3 credentials. You get recovery copies without exposing raw database access to more people.
